1. Birth certificates: They are asking for the Birth Certificates with the application. I and my wife don't have our birth registered in India. Can we provide birth certificates that the Indian embassy sends for this purpose? For US I-485, we were planning to use Non-availability certificates.

2. Experience Letter: Will a notarized letter from colleague work for showing work-exp in India. Please note that I already have over 4 yrs of experience in US after that - for which I will manage to get a work exp letter from my company.

Being a NRI in US, your conclusion is it is a SL issue, not a India issue. This is because you enjoy freedom, safety and opportunity in USA, even though you are just a non-immigrant in USA. How does the current company obtain a pre-approved labor? Does it buy the pre-app labour? Or is it SOLELY because someone in the company left (whose labor was approved)?
Labor certification means a company is certifying that they cannot find an American to do the job, lets say write a Java program. So once they certify that, they can say look we have this dude from India who can write Java programs, we want to hire him permanently. But what if the dude gets a better job or goes back to India or both...? The company still needs someone to write that Java program... they have established that they are not able to find an American to do that... so they can say this dude-2 has the same qualifications as the dude whom we originally want... so let us hire him permanently... so that is labor substitution... there is genuine business case to do that.

The logic is that you are 'putting down roots' by buying a house. If all it takes is proof of closing a mortgage, one could always turn around and sell the house. somethng like that would undermine the credibility of IV in the medium/long run.
I had initially advocated treating first time home buying as the same as marriage to an American citizen. In my opinion, that is a short,sweet,simple and sensible approach to follow that will also resonate/stick in lawmakers minds (rather than a long,rambling letter, no offense meant to the writers, it was quite well put together).

Another thing i found out about these amway guys is they lie about
credentials of their upsells and about themselves just to show them as superior and successful in life, i know few friends of mine who though a big failure in the technical job they do (one has been kicked out of the job because he did not knew his work) but he keeps posting patents on free internet sites and writes technical blogs (most of them copied from different internet sites) just to show his downlines how bigshot he is.
Complete wastage of time and money, do it if you want to alienate all your existing friends and family and if you did decide to join , be ready to be brainwashed by the new friends and group that you are going to have by making everybody else beside that group as a loser.

I support having ongoing discussions with USCIS and having an amicable relationship with them. We should work hard to make the letter campaign successful. We have 30000 members but less than 2000 letters so far. While some volunteers are working tirelessly to make the letter campaign successful some do not want to take part in it at all because the Template's we have out there are asking for their Name, Address and Telephone Number. it is not a joke to mail out a letter to the president on which the signature of the person is not comprehendable and there is no Full Name, Adress and Telephone number. I spent hours last weekend answering people's questions about letter campaign but all I get in return is recommendations on what else I can do. There were no letters after all that. I totally support Walking_Dude on this.

I know a few people in our Local Chapter who spend their money for local chapter activities in addition to their monthly contributions. We have less than 10 members in our chapter who do that. I can totally understand when they tell me sometimes that have been spending a lot of their own money and taking the lead this for an year and half and are getting burned and want to take a step back now since we do not have new people stepping forward to help. Atleast they promised to take part in action items for sure.

there is a saying "if it takes 180 days for a immigrant to screw a light bulb" does not mean that "180 immigrants can screw the light bulb in 1 day".
we have thresholds and we need more active participation. These campaigns are refreshers, we are gathering more dedicated vollunteers, we want to see more people coming forward and help us.

And that was because I saw some people posting misleading information about the Sri Lankan war and I wanted everyone to see at least what I consider to be the real situation. One thing, assume if it works out and 50% of the people are able to buy houses and get the GC, they are out of the queue right, so automatically the back logs are gone and the remaining people not able to buy the house will get their GCs soon.

When Gadnhiji advocated secularism for India he did so because he believed in "Sarva Mata Sama Bhava"(The equality of all religions in which most of us believe).

So instead of 30% of india belonging to these two groups per your numbers, it is actually closer to 15%. Right wing extremists group use these exagerrated numbers to drive more gullible people into their communal parties. But you get those numbers from VHP/RSS. Check it tomorrow and it could be close to 40% !

One who arrests Sankaracharya (both semior/junior acharyas)based on suspected conspiracy angle on Deepavali eve and holds him in Jail for 60 days , bringing interruption to the Chandramauleswar puja that has been consistently conducted in the Mutt for 2,500 years (it's another thing nothing was proved for almost 5 years now)
One who abuses Sadhvi Pragnya Thakur with evil intent to bring up something called Hindu terrorism,conduct 4 (not 1/2) narco tests apart from other unmentionable things.
One who overlooks the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.
one who set's up conversion camps in Tirumala.

For those who don't know and who are backing Manmohan Singh he never contested any elecetion so far and he is also not fighting these elections.He is taking Rjay Sabha route again. Don't know at what gun point Sonia Gandhi is holding him but this guy actually wants to retire after having had so many major surgeries all his , one more recently.
Buzz is also that if UPA wins Manmhona singh will be made PM and after some time will be replaced with Rahul Gandhi.So it's all hog wash.
I am not sure what vision Mr.Advani has for India. May be at this age he might have better vision than other people in the same league.

For those who don't know and who are backing Manmohan Singh he never contested any elecetion so far and he is also not fighting these elections.He is taking Rjay Sabha route again. Don't know at what gun point Sonia Gandhi is holding him but this guy actually wants to retire after having had so many major surgeries all his , one more recently.
Buzz is also that if UPA wins Manmhona singh will be made PM and after some time will be replaced with Rahul Gandhi.So it's all hog wash.
I am not sure what vision Mr.Advani has for India. May be at this age he might have better vision than other people in the same league.
