Covert has documents to prove that there are links between many other projects and companies floated by the Chief Minister’s son Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Covert has a copy of several Board resolutions of this company, confirming that Jagan Mohan Reddy is the director of Raghuram Cements and fully authorised to deal with the financial transactions.

The State Government has exploited every loophole to seal this Rs 5,000-crore project that involves the acquisition of 25,000 acres of land in the State.

Where are you getting numbers for EB2 India for 2005 to be 10000, when total labor approved for 2005 were just 6133 (for all countries).

There where 7290 India PERM application approved for applications filed in 2005 (of this 60% where EB2 - assumption). And assuming 3000 RIR EB2 India LCA applications (pre march 2005) there are 7400 EB2 India LCA with PD of 2005. Rest of the calculation is in my post.

Let us not deliberate about the details about the proposal. Let us leave it to the lawmakers to broaden the scope of the proposal. The key is to make the lawmakers aware that the EB immigrants can and are willing to provide a helping hand to improve the current housing crisis.

It seems most analysts here think that by Q4 2010 the approval of 485 could theorotically reach mid 2006 with a liberal allocation of spill-overs and a conservative estimate of abandonment etc.
My question is in order for CIS to have sufficient 485 cases to review .. will they not need to advance dates still further so they can start reviewing the apps and in 2-4 years time give those folks the GC.. I am specifically talking about all those who missed the July 2007 bus and whose priority date is after july 30, 07.... any hope for poor souls like us to at least file for EAD in 2010?Or is this wishful thinking?

I really understand your pain and suffering, we are kind of the worst affected lot (or atleast one of the worst affected), those who made it in Jul 07 atleast have interim relief. IMO, both arguments and are valid as far as speculations are concerned. It all depends on perspective. In this thread, we are focusing on statistics and calculations. I my self did lot of calculations. However, objectively looking at Ron's comments, it appears like his concern and underlying message is what if USCIS won't adjudicate enough numbers and wastes visa numbers as it did lot of times. He is basing his prediction on years of experience. With recent pressure on DOS/USCIS to use visa number, I think, they are making an attempt to use up all numbers and that will definitely bring life to our calculations. But what If they do not do that.....and their 'target' is a low number.
What you say can certainly happen, but I beleive that the pressure on USCIS is exponentially greater after last summer. People are watching their every step very closely. They got away with their inefficiency in prior years because the bottleneck was not USCIS - it was DOL that took a zillion years to clear labor petitions. Additionally the visa recapture of 2000 ensured no retrogression until 2005. Even after 2005 there were very few 485's to approve because of a) very low perm applications/approvals in 2005 and early 2006 and b) all the 2003/2004 labors were stuck in BEC's and were approved only in late 2006 or early 2007 (like yours truly - mine was actually an RIR but the BEC classified it as Traditional Recruitment and began recruiting for the position - but thats another story).
Net net; USCIS inefficiency was masked under DOL's backlog - but now their transgressions are out in the open and they cant hide anymore behind DOL especially after last summer.

Well ... the fact remains "a capacious, larger-than-life persona who was alive yesterday is just no more today?” In matter of seconds he's gone, and nobody could have prevented it, whatsoever.
It's a deeps*** lesson that life is just so unpredictable whoever it is. We just have to live life rather than live ONLY for the very fact that life should get greened one day. I am getting a stronger messages by the way of such news that we should not be “damm” desperate/obsessed/vexed every second for not getting greened as if it were a pill to immortality. Lesson to stop worrying & 'get life' since we aren't vanished into oblivion as of yet.
ps: I am not preacher, just some random thoughts!

Your above statement is true, but it doesn't apply to EB situation. A slave is not allowed to leave, you are allowed to leave time, at your free will. Its just that you chose not to leave. The correct description of the situation is - you are imposing slavery upon yourself and asking for remedy from the government. Isn't that correct? Jazzy is simply saying that you can leave if you don't like it. So you are not a slave. Its that simple.
Knowingly or unknowingly they have setup laws which virtually make us slaves.
Laws are pretty clear, its just that we are stuck in the process created by those laws and we want to call it "slavery".
This debate will have a conclusive output if we think from our mind instead from our heart. No point in getting emotional about the situation, this debate needs pragmatic thinking and discussion about the possible lawsuit.

Thats the reason every immigration bill so far related to EB has tried to resolve this issue. Anyone who says retrogression is good is either misinformed or a pychopathic specimen that needs instant mental evaluation, followed by treatment and observation in an asylum. The observation should continue for as long as it takes a typical EB3-India case to get approved. To paraphrase your quote: "The truly cured would still be observed until their turn for release comes"

In a similar vein, you need to understand that there were and are huge gaping inefficiencies in the current immigration process. There has to be a way to curb these excesses and inefficiencies.
